Introduction to the Generous Mind Concept
There are many seminars and countless conferences being held on every issue imaginable. These serve their place and provide a valuable service, but there is a need for another kind of discussion. A conversation designed to create a generous outcome.
Generous Mind is pleased to introduce you to the Generous Mind Conversation. This is an extremely intentional, highly collaborative process by which we pull together strategic people for the purpose of discussing an issue, documenting the outcomes and publishing the information in a way that will have the greatest impact.
The Generous Mind Conversation helps people who have great insight to be generous by weaving several people’s information together into a compelling narrative that people can understand and apply. It is not enough just to have generous intentions, we are committed to giving a person’s generous spirit a tangible platform with the potential of informing and transforming lives.
The Process
In order to create high impact there is a very specific process to a Generous Mind Conversation. Here are the key steps:
1. Key individuals who have a track record of subject matter competency and a spirit of generosity are identified and invited to the Generous Mind Conversation. This conversation could be a conference call, a weekend retreat or even a weeklong event.
2. When an individual is invited, they are provided with the topic, their specific assignment (pre and post event) and the dates of the event. Each conversation is different and so the amount of investment required is unique. The investment will be made very clear at the invitation.
3. Once an individual has accepted the invitation, they will prepare for the conversation based on the assignment provided. During this preparation time, the invitee is welcomed to ask questions, modify the preparations and focus their contribution.
4. At the event, each individual will generously bring their contribution to the discussion. Each individual will have an opportunity to share. Then there will be time for discussion. The last step will be to outline the deliverable.
5. The deliverable will take different forms. The goal will be that the deliverable is established as part of the preparation (an article, a radio show, a white paper, etc.). The members of the conversation will agree to the conclusions of the conversation. It is critical that the conversation have consensus. If consensus is not reached during the event, another shorter follow-up conversation will be required. (Generosity must be clear and represent all members of the conversation.)
6. Each member of the conversation will be recognized in the final product and Generous Mind will help place the product and promote it.
