Generous Mind Explained

Over the years we have been taught to be generous with our money and our time, but in the Idea Economy, who is talking about being generous with our minds?

We believe that a Generous Mind is one that has several key characteristics:

  1. observant of the world around it
  2. disciplined not to lose the precious thoughts that pass by
  3. passionate about knowledge transfer
  4. wise to understand what ideas a specific person needs

Being a Generous Mind is not an automatic thing. Some people find it easier than others, but everyone must work to show generosity in this way. Our passion is to help people see the power of being generous with their ideas and to work with organizations around the world to develop content that has a powerful impact on the lives of people.

What would the world be like if everyone were a generous mind?

We've been dreaming about a world where:

  • the great questions of life are made priority over the busyness of life.
  • people stay up late engrossed in conversation.
  • everyone has a mentor and is a mentor to someone else.
  • people never stop growing or helping each other to grow.
  • people become more valuable as they age because they become a reservoir of knowledge and experience for the young.
  • people wouldn't have to learn everything the hard way, because there would be resources to help us avoid the pitfalls.
  • work would become a place of personal growth, not an exercise in political savvy.
  • territorial boundaries and hiding what you know to save your job would be traded in for an atmosphere full of generous transactions of thoughts and ideas.
  • there would be creative outlets to share knowledge in every field.
